I love cranberry’s and used to have cranberry juice all the time. However since I’ve given up refined sugar and artificial sweeteners I rarely have anything cranberry, until now.
Cranberries are too bitter on their own so need some sweetness, here I opt for dates and orange juice.
As you can see from the photo the resulting sauce is thick and very dark.

Ingredients
- 400g cranberries (fresh or frozen)
- 100g dates, diced
- juice of two oranges
Instructions
- Heat everything on a low medium heat and add 50ml of water
- Stir occasionally, reduce the heat and add more water if it starts to catch
- When all the cranberrys have burst (about 10 mins) set aside to cool
