As 2016 draws to an end here is a quick roundup of our most popular recipes, by social shares, of the year. All are dairy free, gluten free, vegan plant-based, healthy, full of nutrients and all that jazz. They also have a quick video recipe (about a min) with no talking or faffing about.
10. Gluten Free Cauliflower Wings
I couldn’t find a cauliflower “wings” recipe that was gluten free, didn’t use jars of pre-made chilli and didn’t use unusual flours that people might struggle to find so I came out with this. The end result was really good ( far better than I imagined) and inexpensive to make
9. Raw Hot Chocolate
Some were confused as to how this could be a raw hot chocolate. Maybe for accuracy it should have been called warm hot chocolate, but that doesn’t sound nearly as good. Made using cashews for a creamy dairy-free drink.
8. Fruit Juice Jelly Sweets
These jelly sweets are just flavoured with fruit and couldn’t be easier to make. The magic comes from the seaweed agar agar. It’s a really simple and fun recipe.
7. Salted Caramel Snickers
Another entry for salted caramel, this time in a little bar with almond or peanut butter. Has been very popular with everyone that I’ve fed it to, even those not into “healthy eating”.
6. Vegan Sunflower Cheese
This vegan cheese did divide opinion, it’s shiny and a bit jelly like. It does however grate and unlike most vegan cheesed is not loaded with unhealthy hardened palm fats.
5. Chocolate Avocado Mousse with Salted Caramel Recipe
It’s super easy to make chocolate avocado mousse with those two ingredients and a dash of plant-based milk and a sweetener. Then just top it with salted cashew caramel for a winning dessert.
4. Tropical Lemon Cake
Who can say no to a carrot cake with a tropical pineapple twist topped with golden cashew lemon frosting?
3. Avocado on Quinoa Bread Toast
Many on social media couldn’t believe that this is as easy as the video shows. But yes it really is that easy to make gluten free quinoa toast, and it’s delicious.
2. 3 Ingredient Raisin Banana Oat Biscuits
Just mashed bananas, oats and raisins make for a quick and easy cookie. Just remember to use soft flakey oats and grind them down to a powder. You can buy gluten free oats.
1. Carrot Cake Truffles with Vanilla Bean Icing
These little truffles get your hands a bit messy, but they are very fun to make and coat in a thick layer of yummy cashew vanilla cream.
